About

Hey there.

I'm Viridiana (she/her), a 29-year-old Tex-Mex gal living in Dallas, Texas. Back in my Texas Tech days, I studied biochemistry, pharmacy, and healthcare administration. And now, I'm the proud parent of two utterly nutty cats, Toby (the black house panther) and Zooey (the certified lunatic), along with my adorable leopard gecko, Ziggy, and Harry, the charming green tree frog. Life was all about scholarly pursuits and chasing dreams I wasn't truly passionate about until my great houseplant revelation of late 2020.

Picture this: I'm giving my bedroom a makeover, contemplating wall shelves for pure aesthetics. After a few minutes of staring at those empty shelves, I thought, “fake plants, why not?" But then I had a good laugh at the idea and decided to go with the real deal. Cue me, glued to my computer screen for hours, researching beginner houseplants that wouldn't give my house panther a stomachache. Off I run to Lowe's, snagging a basic nerve plant. Little did I know, that one plant was just the beginning. The next day, I'm back at Lowe's for more. The cycle repeats, and fast forward to 2023, and I've gone full-blown plant crazy.

Plants basically hijacked my life, but in the best possible way. Caring for them, deciphering their whims, and soaking up the sheer joy they bring has transformed my world. March 2023 brought a giant serving of career burnout, prompting me to hit pause on everything and go all-in on plants. It's been nothing short of amazing, and I consider myself extremely lucky.

Sharing the wisdom I've harvested over these past few years with my Facebook group pals and the DFW plant family is my ultimate source of bliss. I love the opportunity to cultivate exotic, rare plants and then spread the green love within the plant community. Running my own small business and creating the fantastic friendships I've made along the way, thanks to the plant world, is beyond anything I ever imagined. The gratitude is real.

Supporting our fantastic local DFW businesses and creating a safe space for fellow plant enthusiasts to gather, chat, and engage in some fun plant swapping is something I cherish deeply. Plus, I've stumbled into the world of event planning, and let me tell you, it's been amazing. If you'd told me earlier that I'd be hosting plant events and markets, I'd have probably laughed. But here I am. I got some sweet plans for even more workshops down the line. There's something delightful about teaching in small, intimate groups. I can shower you all with personalized plant wisdom. My mission with workshops is ensure that every attendee leaves with confidence and newfound plant knowledge.

I could ramble on, but let's call it a day for this "About Me" section. Thanks a million for popping by my website and for being part of this journey.

Much love,

Viridiana
